Living a Life of PROMISE
This is an 8-week Life Skills series that we began in the Eagles dorm at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center. It is designed for small groups, usually six to 10 people. We have had eight youth attend regularly and they have made great progress. We teach it on Tuesday evenings. If you are interested in helping to teach this great curriculum, please call or email us.

Fall Field Day
Straight Ahead Colorado was asked by our partner, Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center, to participate in a Fall Field Day inside the fence. Our great volunteers gave their day to be with 55 young men eligible to participate. They had fun and great conversations while helping them move through the “stations” of football toss, basketball, volleyball, sumo costume races, and a first-ever pie eating contest! We thank LMYSC for giving us the opportunity to have access to these youth! A shout out to Mike Caires, and the administration of LMYSC for making this happen!
Thanksgiving
A group of Eagles will help us distribute turkeys this year. Through the generosity of the Denver Rescue Mission, a long-time partner, they will also be able to give their families a turkey this year.
Annual Christmas Party
The date is set – Thursday, December 19, 2019 – for our annual Christmas party at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center. This is always a fun event, and more than 60 youth and staff will hear the Gospel message. . We need some volunteers to come in with us to help serve up the goodies, and visit with the kids. Please call or email if you plan on being with us so we can get your name on the clearance list. The Sunday school class at Bear Valley Church and Life Fellowship Frederick have graciously agreed to bake up more than 50 dozen cookies for the kids, as they have in the past for several years. Thank you!
Residents Give Gifts to their own children
The incarcerated youth at Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center and MountView Youth Services Center will again be able to wrap gifts to give to their own children this Christmas. Life Fellowship Frederick Church makes this possible again this year. Members of their congregation purchase gifts and deliver them to the facilities, along with wrapping paper, ribbons and gift tags. They are then allowed to give these gifts to their children. What an awesome opportunity we have to share the Gospel!
LMYSC Staff Appreciation
LMYSC Staff Appreciation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019. In the past, we have seen all the staff on duty that day come through to get Christmas goodies and to visit. For some staff, it is a time they have been able to sit down and talk to us. We have had many meaningful conversations because of this event.
